Supporting Those Going through Menopause with Our Mindfulness and Relaxation Programme

Menopause is not just about hot flushes and forgetfulness. There are a whole host of unpredictable physical, and emotional symptoms that come along with this stage of life, including anxiety, low mood and chronic pain. In this talk, Ruth will talk about why – and how - she developed a specific mindfulness intervention for peri-menopause and menopause. She’ll outline some of the differences between this course and a standard MBSR, and share some of the stories from women who’ve completed the programme.

Ruth Rosselson came to mindfulness meditation in 2004 to help her better manage living with chronic pain and fatigue from rheumatoid arthritis. She’s been working for Manchester Mind as Resilience Co-ordinator for 12 years running courses and workshops, including the organisation’s Mindfulness programme. She trained in delivering Mindfulness based interventions 9 years ago, and is accredited with BAMBA. During 2020 Ruth devised an 8 week Mindfulness and Relaxation for Menopause course – the first of its kind in the UK.
